Headteacher's Update

Dear Parents/carers

I hope you and your families are well and managing with the many demands and challenges that the lockdown bring with it. I want to reassure you that we are very conscious that households may well have multiple home schooling demands coupled with the need for you to continue working, and just how hard this can be. It is for this reason that I want to extend huge thanks for your approach to, and cooperation with, our remote provision. We have been overwhelmed by how well our pupils have engaged with lessons delivered via ‘Teams’ this week, and despite a few minor technical issues early in the week, the response has been fantastic. We understand that online learning is no replacement for the real thing but to see whole classes engage with the ‘live’ or recorded Teams sessions in such high numbers has been absolutely wonderful. The vast majority of your children are fully up and running with login details etc., but should they experience any issues of this nature, please email itsupport@st-maryshigh.hereford.sch.uk and we will get them rectified as soon as possible. Similarly, if your child needs any additional guidance, they can communicate with their teachers either via Teams or using school email addresses. Your children should have also received messages from Louisa Andrews our Chaplain with contact details and also from our Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team via Mr Hawkesford-Johnson. Please do encourage them to get in touch if they would like to access either or both of these channels of support. Thank you for your many messages of support and appreciation, and I hope you have a good weekend.

Best wishes
