Welcome from our Head Teacher
Mr
C. Lambert
St.
Mary's R.C. High School is a Roman Catholic Comprehensive School
for boys and girls aged 11-16. The school primarily serves the
Catholic Communities of Herefordshire and is situated in a very
attractive rural location close to the River Lugg, a few miles
to the east of the City of Hereford in the village of Lugwardine.
St
Mary's RC High School is a very good comprehensive school. The
school has received achievement awards, from the DfES. The ethos
of the school is founded on Gospel values, which means that we
try to live by the teachings of Jesus and the example that He
set for us. We are a caring community where everyone is valued
and a range of talents recognised and nurtured. There is a happy
and relaxed atmosphere with a clear and purposeful approach. High
standards of appearance and behaviour are expected.
The
school aims to teach and foster a Christian perspective in all
that it does, within a community which has Gospel valves, traditions
and beliefs as the kernel of its ethos. At St. Mary's we ensure
that all our young people aim high and work hard in all subjects
they study. We also encourage all pupils to take the opportunity
to join and enjoy the many extra curricular clubs and activities
that are very much a part of life here at the school.
We believe the partnership of home, school and parish is vital
if our pupils are to develop into mature, caring and tolerant
young people. Our intention is to involve whenever possible all
three parties in decisions concerning the guidance pupils receive
whilst at the school. At St. Mary's we actively encourage parents
to play a part in the education of their sons and daughters.
We
hope the information in these web pages will provide you with
a flavour of the atmosphere that pervades St Mary's.
We
are proud of our school and it is a privilege to be its Head teacher.
