Year 8 Wendy and Paper Pan 8th January

The trip to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon to see ‘Wendy and Peter Pan’ is taking place on Tuesday 15th December.

6th January 2016

Dear Parents and Carers,

The trip to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon to see ‘Wendy and Peter Pan’ is taking place on Tuesday 15th December. As the performance commences at 7.15pm and we are anticipating traffic congestion at this time of year, we will leave promptly at 4.30pm. We are unable to wait for any latecomers.

While we do not ask pupils to wear school uniform for this trip, we do expect a smart appearance which is appropriate to the theatre environment; note too that it will probably be very cold. It would be unwise to come without warm outerwear. Pupils who wish to eat a packed tea prior to the trip may do so in the Drama room. They will need to bring all their belongings onto the coach with them as school will be locked upon our return. The coach will return to St Mary’s at approximately 11.30pm; pupils will be able to telephone from the coach on the return journey should there be any significant change to this time.

When you enter the school gates to collect your child, please only park along the left-hand side of the drive. Do not park anywhere around the roundabout or on the right-hand side (where the bus shelters are) as the coach will be unable to manoeuvre and park. Additional parking can be found along the small drive next to the tennis courts.

Once in the theatre pupils will be asked to turn off mobile phones, not to whisper, talk, eat or drink during the performance, and to be on their very best public behaviour. We have always received compliments on the behaviour of our pupils in the past, and hope to maintain this very high standard. Children should bring spending money if they wish to purchase a programme or refreshments at the theatre.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need further information or have any general questions about the trip.

Yours faithfully,

Ceri Robins
