GCSE Drama Course Year 11
The AQA GSCE Drama course combines performance work, study of set plays and appreciation of live theatre. Students work in groups throughout the course, developing their imaginative, creative, cognitive and social skills. In order to develop and extend their performance skills, students are required to become critical and reflective thinkers.
60% - Coursework.
15% - Students' work in progress, evaluating their preparation and final performance.
45% - Practical performance.
During the course, students complete at least two units based on scripted performance and two units based on improvisation. The coursework mark submitted at the end of Year 11 comprises of their best scripted performance and improvisation units.
40% - Examination.
One paper is sat at the end of Year 11, where students must complete two Sections. This one and a half hour paper is based on students practical performance work and their evaluation of live performances.
