Every year students have the opportunity to go on visits and conduct field work to support their learning in Geography.

Year 7 : Conduct map work around the school site and in the village of Lugwardine. As part of their study of geology and rivers pupils are also taken to Dan yr Ogof (The National Showcaves Centre for Wales) and Henrhyd Waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons.

Year 8 : Year 8 pupils visited Cold Knapp Beach and Whitmore Bay to investigate coastal processes and landforms.

Year 9 : Visit the Lapworth Geological Museum at the University of Birmingham to learn about plate tectonics and the origin of different rock types.

 

GCSE fieldwork : Year 10 have visited Upton Upon Severn to investigate the sustainability of flood management methods.  They also go to Bristol to compare levels of social deprivation and examine how the Temple Meads area has been regenerated.

GCSE Optional Residential:

Students have the opportunity to visit Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco to support this studies and experience a different cultural and physical environment.
