World Of Work
Due to work experience week not being run this year Balfour Beatty, Heineken, nMite, HWGTA and Sequani kindly agreed to come into school and offer practical, work-based activities for all of our Y11 pupils.
Balfour Beatty – Pricing the Job
Pupils were taken through the process of pricing up a job using relevant tools, calculating the area of the job, pricing materials and calculating the quote for the job.
Heineken – Technical Training & Work
Two apprentices will go through their route to deciding on taking on a job and training with Heineken, working with specialist equipment and have a practical scenario with a robot arm.
Hereford & Worcester Group Training – Design & Make Project
Pupils designed & made a vehicle that needed to manoeuver around an obstacle course.
NMite – Engineering Challenge
The students had an introduction into engineering through a designing challenge. They were guided through the engineering designing process in order to develop ideas for a provided customer request. This activity aims to provide an answer to the question “What does an engineer do?” and introduce the students to the NMITE pedagogy.
Sequani – Getting to Know Yourself
An interactive session to help pupils to uncover some details about their personality. A personal profile can be taken away that may help with future career choices.
