National Offer Date

If you have applied to the Local Authority for a place at St Mary’s RC High School for September 2024 you will be notified of the outcome of your application on the national offer date of 1 March 2024.

  • If you applied online or applied on a paper application and you stated an email on the form you will receive an automatic email informing you to log into your account to download your offer letter and information on what you as a parent need to do next.
  • If you applied on a paper copy and didn’t state an email address you will receive a letter in the post

The Appeal Panel are independent, unpaid volunteers; they are independent of the governing body.  The Appeal Panel are arranged by the Archdiocese of Cardiff.

Appeals timeline for September 2024 entry:

  • National offer date                            1st March 2024
  • Deadline for lodging appeals           29th March 2024

Appeals lodged after this date will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date. Most school appeals will be heard before the school summer holidays for children starting secondary schools where possible. School appeals are unlikely to be heard through the summer holidays.

Appellants must provide any relevant and requested documents within the specified timetable. All documentary evidence to be considered at the hearing will be shared with the clerk to the panel and panel members.  You will be notified in writing of the hearing date.

You will be informed of the panel’s decision in writing within 5 working days, after the hearing.
