OVERVIEW

St Mary’s offers BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 in Travel and Tourism (603/7048/8).

This BTEC Tech Award in Travel and Tourism will inspire students interested in working the Travel and Tourism Sector.  Students will explore the aims of different travel and tourism organisations, the features of tourist destinations, how organisations meet customer needs and the influences on global travel and tourism.  They will also develop key transferable skills such as research and communication.

COURSE CONTENT

The course comprises three units, completed consecutively and building on knowledge and skills gained along the way.

 

ASSESSMENT

The course consists of two pieces of coursework and one written exam.

GRADING

The grade awarded at the end of the qualification is an aggregation of a learner’s performance across the three components ranging from Level 2 Distinction * to Level 1 Pass and equates roughly to GCSE grades as shown below:
